Another Great Family Surf Lesson

During a two hour surf lesson, some people are able to get the basics down so well that they can try more advanced moves on a surfboard.

In this case, two parents went tandem surfing with their children.

All four on one wave.

As they surf closer to the cameraman it is difficult to get them all in the same frame.

Father and son surfing.

Mother and daughter.

Finally, as the sun hid behind a cloud and James hid behind the son >>>

the whole family got a great photo.

Just need a little Photo-shop to hide the instructor.

Such an amazing family surf photo.

Exclusive Surf Spot

Hans Hedemann Surf School has our own surf spot within the Waikiki area. Just a short walk from the Park Shore Hotel.

Rachel and Chelsea in front of the Hans Hedemann Surf School in Waikiki.

We also rent SUP boards and short boards.

Our Roxy and Quiksilver Surf Camp tents in front of our surf spot.

Doesn’t look like Waikiki >>>> But it is.  Near the Honolulu Zoo in Kapiolani Park.

Our surf spot by day.

And By Night

Sister Surf Lesson

9 year-old Samatha and her 12 year-old sister Julia were lucky enough to have a semi-private surf lesson with Johnny Boy Gomes.

They got up right away and caught many waves together.

Here, Julia is riding forward while sitting down and Samatha is riding backwards.

.

Great day, lasting memories.

Crazy FUN Private Lesson

This lesson was so fun because, John was a little nervous when we first started paddling out.  As soon as he saw the camera, he changed into a different kid.

He looked at me and said, “I’m a beaver.”.

John’s mom came out to surf too.  She caught this wave with us.

Not nervous.

The Man Behind The Photos

Joseph Libby shoots photos for Hans Hedemann Surf School 6 days a week rain or shine. (mostly shine being in Waikiki…)

He has a lot of money invested in his equipment.

If you see Joey with his eye to the lens and wearing his iPod …. LEAVE HIM ALONE !!!  He HATES to miss photos of students while someone asks him, “How big is that lens?” or “Can I take a look?”

He is working and doesn’t like to be interrupted.  He has dozens of stories about the shots he has missed when someone tapped him on the shoulder.

Joey is looking like this, ask all the questions you like ….  Just don’t ask to look through his lens if you are all wet.  Please !

Underwater Fun

Here at Hans Hedemann Surf School we do more than just push students into waves and yell, “Stand UP!!”  We pride on ourselves on creating lasting memories and turning beginners into surfers.

These sisters had incredible balance and are not excellent surfer girls.

They also had fun swimming underwater toward the camera.

Even James swam at Joey.  I like the reflection above.
